Three years have zipped by since Everyday People Inc. began its journey and wow, what an exciting ride it has been! During this time, we’ve made mistakes, celebrated successes, and kept on going ever since, bootstrapping our way through it all! I have recently taken some time to reflect on our journey thus far and came away with some observations that I want to share.
It has been an exciting time filled with some unforgettable moments and I am thankful for the team of amazing recruiters we have assembled. Their tremendous amount of hard work and their commitment to serving our customers has helped us establish ourselves as a premium choice for offshore recruiting. It’s been an honour to have been part of so many meaningful collaborations with our clients. We believe in our mission to give offshore recruiting a good name and we are excited about the future.
One of our proudest moments is seeing our recruiters recognized as Top Performers by our clients. It’s a testament to our team’s excellence, and we’re proud to know that we’re among the very best in the industry. Thanks to improvements in internet speed and technology, we’ve been able to close the communication and trust gaps that previously existed between candidates and offshore recruiters.
Another proud moment is when clients chose to promote our recruiters. It shows that our recruiters are doing something right, and it’s always great to see our team members grow and develop in their careers.
Perhaps the most rewarding part of our journey so far has been helping other local startups grow by providing them with affordable recruiting solutions. We know firsthand how challenging it can be to get a new business off the ground, so being able to support others in the same position has been incredibly fulfilling.
Things we learned…
In terms of lessons learned, we have gained a lot of insight into the offshore recruiting industry through our interviews with potential employees. This has reinforced our commitment to conducting business in an ethical and principled manner, and to identify and admonish questionable practices.
We learned recruiters love working from home, and they can be even more productive in their work because their time is not diluted between useless meetings, office politics and commuting.
Retention is earned by showing employees they are truly valued. We care about what our employees care about and demonstrate this through every touchpoint of our business. Our employees are consistently challenged intellectually, creatively and with plain old fun. We have a vested interest in the health of the planet and have proven our commitment through a carbon footprint that is significantly lower than our competition. However, good vibes and peer praise don’t make mortgage payments. The team is motivated to deliver profit to our clients that directly correlates to shared profits for ourselves. We pay above market rate to prove that we are more than just talk when it comes to how much we value our team.
Things we are excited about!
Looking ahead, we’re excited to put the finishing touches on an application we’ve created in-house that tracks and reports the return on investment of the services we provide. We believe in transparency and want our team members to feel empowered to manage their own work and progress.
We are excited about the next leg of our company’s journey, and we are putting the offshore recruiting industry on notice. Don’t hold out when it comes to pay hikes and top wages for best performers, because we won’t!
